Biografía

Angelina Anani is currently an assistant professor with a dual position in the department of mining and the department of construction management and engineering at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. She holds a PhD from Missouri University of Science and Technology. She holds a BS (Summa cum laude) from the Missouri University of Science and Technology, USA. She has 5 years of research and teaching. Dr. Anani has extensive experience in modeling and optimization of mining systems for sustainability. Her current research interests include modeling and optimization of mining systems, design and management of sustainable mining systems, mining equipment performance evaluation, tunneling and underground works, energy and water efficiency, application of machine learning in the mining and construction industry.

She has a diverse teaching background in two universities in two countries. In her current role, she teaches graduate and undergraduate mining engineering courses and construction engineering courses. Dr. Anani is an active member of the Society of Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration (SME), Society of Mining Professors, and the Women in Mining (WIM).
