Born in Barcelona, Dr. Jorge Munoz-Gama is an Assistant Professor and Researcher at the Department of Computer Science (DCC), at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (UC), and co-director of the Process Mining UC research group. Author of the book ‘Conformance Checking and Diagnosis in Process Mining’ (Springer 2016), and member of the IEEE Task Force on Process Mining. Doctor in Computation with Excellent Cum Laude, International Mention and Extraordinary Mention for the Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya (UPC), he received several awards including ‘IEEE Best Process Mining Dissertation Award 2014’ and ‘Celonis Process Mining Thesis Award 2017’. Degree on Informatics Engineering including an exchange at Universitetet i Bergen, and Master on Computation, both for the Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya (UPC) . Long research visiting at the National Institute of Informatics of Japan (NII) and the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e).
Research fields of interest include ‘Process Mining’ and ‘Process Oriented Data Science’, specially applied to Education and Healthcare, among other areas. And a huge cinema enthusiast.
