The Major in Structural Engineering combines training in civil works with subjects inherent to this specialty, such as Earthquake Engineering, the computational and experimental analysis of structures, and the design of reinforced-concrete and steel structures. This combination prepares students for the traditional areas of structural engineering, as well the creation of innovative systems for preventing and mitigating risks to protect structures and their contents.
This course will allow students to obtain a general vision of the Major in Structural Engineering and the areas of knowledge that are studied.
The graduates of Bachelor of Science in Engineering with Major in Structural Engineering will be able to utilize their degrees in a number of areas within civil engineering.
The primary fields of employment are consultancies in structural engineering, multidisciplinary consultancies in civil engineering, construction companies, mining companies, and public entities.
