Distinguished speakers to participate in the GEDC World Summit
The summit, which is organized by the UC School of Engineering, addresses three main themes: "transforming society through engineering", "talent diversity for a better engineering” and "courageous entrepreneurial engineers”.
From the 20th to the 23rd of October, the Engineering School of Universidad Católica de Chile will host the Global Engineering Deans Council (GEDC 2019) summit, the most important international meeting for engineers.
The gathering will bring together more than 300 leaders in engineering, comprised mainly of researchers, academics and representatives of the 160 educational institutions currently holding GEDC membership.
The 2019 edition, “Engineering minds, hearts and hands: impact with a purpose”, will address three main themes: “transforming society through engineering”, “talent diversity for a better engineering” and “courageous entrepreneurial engineers”.
On the GEDC 2019 website you will find the four-day agenda of the event, which will be attended by ministers such as Andrés Couve, Minister of Science, Technology, Knowledge and Innovation; Carolina Schmidt, Minister of the Environment; Isabel Plá, Minister of Women and Gender Equality; Juan Andrés Fontaine, Minister of Economy, Development and Tourism; and Felipe Larraín, Minister of Finance; in addition to other prominent national and international speakers such as Gonzalo Muñoz, Banny Banerjee, Arvind Gupta, Dori Tunstall y Manuel Zertuche, among others.
