The vice dean of the Faculty of Engineering is Miguel Torres, associate professor of the Department of Electrical Engineering.
The academic is a civil engineer of industries with a mention in Electricity, Master’s in Engineering Sciences from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and a PhD from McGill University, Canada.
His research interests focus on mobile robotics, industrial robot control, industrial automation, nonlinear systems, stochastic optimal control, signal processing, and microelectronics and computer systems.
He has supervised more than 20 students in their Degree Dissertations and Master’s theses in Engineering Sciences.
He also has held important positions within the School of Engineering: between 2014 and 2017 he served as director of Social Responsibility and then became director of Technology until 2022.
