Major in Biomedical Engineering

Biomedical engineering applies engineering knowledge and approaches to the fields of medicine and biology in order to contribute to human health. Students will develop the competencies necessary for creating solutions to current problems in this area.

The Biomedical in Engineering Major will develop the ability to apply innovative solutions to problems in human health with an interdisciplinary focus. Furthermore, this program allows students to apply their knowledge ro a diverse range of projects with the capacity to tackle and solve highly complex issues through the formation and application of mathematical models.

This major has a limited number of vacancies, due to which, there is a selection process.

The Major in Biomedical Engineering allows students to specialize in the traditional degrees from the School of Engineering, or, to obtain the degree of a UC Medical Surgeon after fulfilling established requirements.
