Abstract
A way of dealing with uncertainty is the use of models based on Robust Optimization. Robust Optimization seeks solutions for an optimization problem that are insensitive to variations in problem data, at least within certain ranges. Typically, it is assumed that the data are within certain scenarios, adequately described, and a solution that is feasible for all these scenarios is sought. The solution, for the same reason, is not necessarily the optimum for any of them; therefore, leading to sub-optimality. This paper illustrates the behavior of a Robust Optimization model for transmission planning in a 3-node network.
