I Symposium On Active Faults And Their Geological Hazard In Chile

We invite you to be part of the first Symposium on Active Faults and Geological Risks in Chile! The event will focus on the discussion, characterization and evaluation of seismogenic and potentially active geological faults in Chile, as well as their impact on the country’s seismicity and territorial ordinance.

The event will take place on Friday, September 27, starting at 9:30 a.m., in the San Agustín Auditorium of the San Joaquín UC Campus. Organized by the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile (PUC) and the National Geology and Mining Service (Sernageomin), this meeting will bring together prominent researchers, authorities and the scientific community to share knowledge and experiences. Participation is free, but spaces are limited. Don’t miss this opportunity and secure your spot by completing the registration form at the bottom of the page! Below, you can see the program of activities for the event:

The main objective of the symposium is to strengthen the collaboration of the geosciences community in Chile and transmit knowledge to the community and authorities. The symposium is organized by the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile (PUC) and the National Geology and Mining Service (Sernageomin).

The main presentations will be given by experts on requested topics within topics that comprehensively address geological processes, monitoring the danger associated with cortical faults in Chile. Presentations will be 15 minutes plus 5 minutes of questions. In addition, there will be talks open to applications from interested parties of 5 minutes each. Check the detailed program here.
