Abstract
In this research, a methodology for finite element software is presented, where light timber frame walls are modelled trough an isotropic material (capable of being modelled with shell elements in a finite element software), which by modifying of its physical parameters characterizes: stresses, displacements and modal responses of a midrise building. To validate this model, experimental tests performed on light timber frame walls, finite element software models, nonlinear models and international design methodologies are used.
